Deb battled rheumatoid arthritis for almost 40 years prior to being diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2013. Following a double mastectomy, surgical complications and 16 months of radiation and chemo, Deb had a reprieve from cancer for a short 6 months. A CT scan following a fall, revealed her breast cancer had metastasized to her brain. She felt that her fall was a blessing since it revealed the brain tumor. In the 3 years since, Deb has had 2 brain surgeries, 2 rounds of radiation, several months of chemo, and months in rehab facilities. Deb's spirit has never faltered. Her courage, attitude, resilience and strength have amazed all of those around her. Her medical battles have presented several other life challenges too. Deb has taken it all on and keeps smiling. She is a true warrior who has shown the world how to fight like a girl!
